Chand
Kha Munshi
Chand
Kha Munshi was born some time in the middle of 18th century in
Kahiagaon village in Vikrampur. His father's name was Afizullah
Khan. The Kha family held a prestigious position among the Muslim
families in Vikrampur and was well known. His predecessors came
to Bangladesh after having a conflict with the King of Delhi.
Chand
Kha was an impeccable linguist and eminent pundit. He wrote numerous
manuscripts, most of which are handwritten and written in Persian
language. Many of those manuscripts are still preserved in Calcutta
Museum. Translations of these books should reveal more information
on Chand Kha Munshi. This requires more research. A large number
of prominent people can be named who were his students. This includes
the powerful Zamindar of Sreenagar, Lala Krishna Bose, father of
Sir C.M. Bose of Shologhar, Ashwini Kumar Bose of Malkhanagar and
father of Monoranjan Ray of Man Para. He was a hugely popular figure
in Vikrampur for his depth of knowledge.
